Meet Your Librarian: Meagan Brown

What I Do

Hi there!

As the Student Success Librarian, my main goal is to help you feel comfortable finding and using library resources, regardless of your previous experience or education level. I always aim to make the library an inclusive and welcoming place where you feel safe asking questions and exploring the information landscape. Whether this is your first time using a library, or you're returning to college after time away, I can help you!

What I can help with:

  • Learning effective search techniques
  • Getting familiar with with the library and its resources
  • Navigating databases
  • Teaching you how to evaluate your sources
  • Locating scholarly, peer-reviewed resources
  • Answering reference questions
  • Library anxiety & information overwhelm
  • Much more, so just ask!

If I can't answer your question, I'll find someone who can.

Professional Areas of Interest

My interests are broad when it comes to library service and student experience with academic libraries, but here are few areas I'm particularly passionate about:

  • Student success & belonging
  • Inclusive library spaces
  • Library service to non-traditional students
  • First year experience
  • Library instruction
  • Library outreach programs
  • Teaching research skills
