In the past week there have been a multitude of anti-racism and Black Lives Matter reading lists published across the internet. We are highlighting a just a few of those titles that we have as ebooks to encourage our campus community to engage their minds, unlearn, relearn, and question not only while mass protests are bringing attention to issues surrounding racism, policing, and privilege, but to continue to work to understand, empathize, and take action on these issues.

The following list is in alphabetical order by author's last name.

Cover ArtWhite Rage by Carol Anderson

Cover ArtThe Next American Revolution by Grace Lee Boggs; Scott Kurashige; Danny Glover (Foreword by)

In this powerful, deeply humanistic book, Grace Lee Boggs, a legendary figure in the struggle for justice in America, shrewdly assesses the current crisis--political, economical, and environmental--and shows how to create the radical social change we need to confront new realities. Boggs has participated in all of the twentieth century's major social movements--for civil rights, women's rights, workers' rights, and more. From her home in Detroit, she reveals how hope and creativity are overcoming despair and decay within the most devastated urban communities. Her book is a manifesto for creating alternative modes of work, politics, and human interaction that will collectively constitute the next American Revolution.

A no-holds-barred, red-hot discussion of race in America today from some of the leading names in the field, including the bestselling author of Just Mercy This blisteringly candid discussion of the American dilemma in the age of Trump brings together the head of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the former attorney general of the United States, a bestselling author and death penalty lawyer, and a star professor for an honest conversation the country desperately needs to hear. Drawing on their collective decades of work on civil rights issues as well as personal histories of rising from poverty and oppression, these leading lights of the legal profession and the fight for racial justice talk about the importance of reclaiming the racial narrative and keeping our eyes on the horizon as we work for justice in an unjust time.
