Meet the New Faces in the Library

by Liz Svoboda on 2025-02-14T15:54:00-05:00 in Library News | 0 Comments

Our student workers are an integral part of the library staff as they work at our circulation desk answering questions from patrons, providing direction around the library and campus, and keeping our physical collections organized. This January we welcomed one returning and three new student employees to the library staff.

Allow them to introduce themselves...

young white woman with long brown hair, standing in library atrium"My name is Abigail Bingley. I am a sophomore studying political science and public policy. I am Vice Chair of the Senate for Student Government. I have a Cat named Duck, and I'm originally from Coopersville. Work is life."

young, African American with short hair in a gray sweater "Hi, my name is Kayden Stokes, and this is my first year - second semester - in college. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, writing, roller skating, cooking, and drawing. Some things to know about me are that my favorite word is 'lugubrious', I love chocolate, and I'm a psychology major with a concentration in pre-medical studies."

young white woman with long blond hair"Hi, my name is Jenna! I’m a first-year sophomore living on campus, and I’m majoring in Data Science. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing piano and guitar, and doing any craft I can get my hands on! I am also an active participant in Launch Campus Ministry and serve as treasurer for the Student Theatre Organization."

young Hispanic woman with short curly black hair in teal top with matching earrings"I am Loura Plummer-Diaz. Fun fact: it's not my first time working here. I worked in the library 5 years ago before the Covid lockdown. Some interesting facts about me are that I am a new mom to a little girl who decided not to share a birthday, I am a senior with 5 classes to go, I am a first-generation college student, I have 4 pets (a dog, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon), and I once had a colony of dubia roaches I raised to feed my bearded dragons. I have enjoyed living in and around Flint for the past 7 years. This job is probably my favorite out of all the jobs I have had in the area. I am very pleased to be back."

Say hello next time you're in the library!
