On Display: Black Pride

There are only a few days left in Pride Month, but plenty of time to highlight a selection of books with Black LGBTQ+ authors, characters, and stories. Pride Month celebrates the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots which were started by and fueled in a large part by trans women of color. These leaders are often overlooked and erased from retellings, and have not benefited from the LGBTQ+ rights movement in the same way other members of the community have. No one is free until we all are free.

Hopefully one or more of these books will be of interest to you, and you will continue to engage with these works and perspectives long past June. This list is far from comprehensive, just a small selection from our collection that is available electronically. For tips to search all our ebooks, there are links at the bottom of the post.
