In March 2024, the library (in partnership with UM Libraries) added Sage Campus to its subscriptions. Sage Campus is a self-paced learning platform for improving skills and research methods with 30+ online asynchronous courses ranging in length from 2 to 40 hours. While the Sage products are semi-focused on social and behavioral sciences, many of these courses teach skills that span academic fields including five broad areas: information literacy, research skills, data literacy, data science skills, and getting published. Many of the courses are aimed at beginning researchers and are generally good overall reviews of their topics.

Classes of note include

  • Conduct a Literature Review
  • Develop Your Search Strategy
  • Analyze Qualitative Data
  • Introduction to Python
  • Introduction to R
  • How to Write a Journal Article (Parts 1 and 2)
  • Introduction to Text Mining
  • Introduction to Data Visualization

In order to enroll in any of these courses, you will need to create an account with Sage Campus to save your progress and earn the certificate. See Sage's user guide for tutorials on how to register an account, enroll in a course, and generally navigate the database.
