Covidence logoSystematic literature reviews have become an increasingly important part of evidence based research. Managing a systematic review process can be cumbersome and access to high quality digital tools are essential to successfully complete a project. Access to Covidence, a popular web tool for managing systematic reviews, other types of reviews, and guidelines, has recently been made available to the entire University of Michigan system. Previously it was only available to people working with Michigan Medicine, but now access has been expanded and researchers from UM-Flint can now make use of this great tool to keep their projects organized.

Covidence allows citation records to be imported and then helps researchers track the publications that have been reviewed and which articles have been marked for inclusion and exclusion. It can also manage deduplication of redundant records, allows for blind reviewing of articles by multiple reviewers, and management of the PRISMA flow chart needed for publication. Researchers affiliated with UM are able to invite collaborators from other institutions as well. Covidence comes with online support and features that will work for small review projects as well as massive full blown systematic review projects.

Detailed documentation and access are available through Taubman Health Library and Covidence Academy. We will also highlight upcoming webinars on our Hours and Events page. For more information or additional help with review projects reach out to Emily Newberry, Research & Scholarship Librarian.
