Library Services in the Summer and After Graduation

While the Summer term can be a little slower on campus, the library and archive's work is never done. Our faculty and staff will be available all summer long for any student, faculty, or staff who are taking classes or working on research and scholarly projects. As a reminder you can:

The library building and live chat will have reduced hours through August. The library building will be open Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A librarian will staff chat from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday. Exceptions to the hours for holidays and intersessions can be found on our Hours and Events page.

After students graduate from UM-Flint, their access to our resources is limited as their enrollment is what grants them borrowing privileges and access to our online resources. However alums and the general public can borrow physical materials by purchasing a yearly borrower's card and can access our online resources if you visit campus. See our FAQ for more information.

We also encourage our graduates (and everybody really) to explore the library ecosystems in Michigan by visiting their local public library, visiting a nearby community college or public university's library, and seeing what the Library of Michigan and MeL have to offer. We explored all of these options in a recent webinar, which we recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel.
