Actuarial science is an applied statistics discipline. Actuaries are employed in various organizations to gauge the risk of certain activities such the incidence automobile accidents, the possibility of getting certain diseases over the course of a human life span, and the probability of certain stocks' performance over time.

Coverage begins in the 1700s and is complete from 1868 to present. It includes data from Jahrbuch über die Fortschritte der Mathematik as well. Entries are indexed with the Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) schema which is maintained by zbMath and MathSciNet. Starting in 2021 zbMath became fully open access.
